My Story
In the early 2000's, I was in graduate school for social work when I first heard of Life Coaching. At the time I remember thinking it was a fad and would never "catch on."
Fast forward 20 years- I have spent my career as a social worker working with families and individuals in a variety of settings. Mental health, health care, non-profit agencies- they all have one thing in common. The client's goal is largely determined by the policies of a facility or insurance plan.
As a social worker, my time with clients was brief and my hands were often tied by the framework I worked in.
Increasingly frustrated and wanting more for my clients, I looked for a better way. A chance for people to set their own goals and the ability to provide the time, space and support to achieve them by enhancing the strengths and skills they already possess.
I found myself returning to Life Coaching and did the research. Not only is Coaching not a fad, but it is an evidence based, neuroscientific practice proven to help people. Life Coaching is a true person-centered approach to individual growth and happiness.
Seeing the positive impact in people's lives has reinvigorated my professional purpose I discovered 20 years ago- I help people.
